Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance function, based in Ellesmere Port.

The purpose of the role is to deliver a highly accurate and efficient end to end Purchase Ledger process for Innospec Limited. As part of the Finance Team the successful candidate will be expected to drive change and innovation.


Role and Responsibilities:


A team player focused and hard working who can demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of purchase ledger and be flexible and adaptable to take on new responsibilities and challenges.


  • Take ownership of the P2P process, processing invoices both with and without purchase orders.
  • Handling of all invoice queries, liaising with staff and stakeholders to find a satisfactory resolution.
  • Arranging regular electronic payment runs, ensuring that suppliers are paid to agreed terms, whilst keeping ad hoc payments to a minimum.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Documentation management i.e. electronic invoice archiving.
  • Review and maintain supplier bank details, payment terms, and remittance email addresses.
  • Preparing and posting monthly journals.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • GCSE’s in Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of an established ERP system, such as SAP, AX Dynamics or Oracle.
  • Exposure to excel and Microsoft office.
  • Able to demonstrate significant experience working within Accounts Payable, ideally with 1 to 2 years accountability.
  • Exposure to the production of detailed and accurate management information/reports.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
