Application Engineer IT 6 Month Contract Remote (UK)
We are currently looking for an Application Engineer for a project with our client a leading organisation in sustainable energy production. You will be working for the operational technology department of gas, coal and biomass fired power plants across multiple UK and European locations.
This is a remote based role within the UK as some site visits to Swindon will be required. The role is on a 6-month contract, but extensions are likely and there is fantastic, long term potential.
A 1 stage interview via MS Teams is required, and the contract is to start in April 2023.
About the project:
The OT environment consists of powerplants with PLC, DCS, Scada and expert systems, two redundant tier-3 data centres, WAN connections to the unit DMZs, the powerplant DMZs and connections with other data centres of other RWE business units and TSOs.
Application Engineer Responsibilities:
Continuously adapt and improve our clients Process Information Management System ( PIMS ) to our customers needs and demands
Archive process data of power plants
About you:
Excellent knowledge of Osisoft PI e.g. PI AF, PI Vision, PI interfaces (OPC DA and UA)
Basic knowledge of Windows, Configuration Management (Git) and automation (Ansible)
General knowledge of power generation and process control
General knowledge of cyber security
Fluent in Dutch, English or German (fluent in English).
