Application Support Engineer

Farnborough - Hybrid working 3 days office and 2 days home working

Your Role as Software Support Analyst / Application Support Engineer

As the Application Support Engineer / Application Support Analyst, your position centres around logging and categorising Incidents and Requests, and crucially progressing through to completion.

The role also involves technical capabilities in terms of writing software reports, SQL scripting skills and an understanding of cloud software delivered as SaaS.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills (across both technical and non-technical scenarios), as well as enjoy building strong relationships with customers. To be successful, you must see yourself as resourceful, energetic, and enthusiastic, and strive to go the 'extra mile', especially regarding customer technical questions and issues.

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications

You will need deep experience in the following areas:
Effortlessly handing customer faults and requests through to completion, via various means (portal, telephone, email and remote support)
Being confident in the escalation of issues, where necessary; as well as consulting with the software engineering team for issue resolutions
Record application defects and consult with engineering for recreating software issues
Monitor and debug performance and usage metrics within the service portal
Execute scripts in SQL for analysing data, in addition to building and amending software reports
Working Hours and Environment
On-Call Rota for Out-Of-Hours assistance on critical customer issues. The structure of this is usually 1 week out of 4 and for this there is a generous allowance, even if you don't receive any calls!
