Applications Engineer (Process Control Instrumentation - Oil & Gas and Cleantech) - North Devon, UK

A new vacancy for an Applications Engineer (PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION) with the UK division of a global manufacturer of process control products used in a wide range of Oil & Gas, Chemical Process and Clean Tech markets. The Applications Engineer will be the lead point of contact for commercial enquires and support customer interactions. He/she will also actively search for new opportunities for division's portfolio within its customer base.

Applications Engineer responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial inquiries related to the product range.
  2. Provide technical support and expertise to Customers, Distributors and Sales Team.
  3. Support customer interactions from specification to order, including pricing and costing.
  4. Provide application support, identifying opportunities for other products within company portfolio.
  5. Facilitate the flow of quotations through internal IT systems.
  6. Deliver product education & service engineering support with wider network & Distribution / Servicing partners.
  7. Identify potential product portfolio opportunities for development.

Ideal Applications Engineer:

  1. Engineering graduate with experience in a similar role and solid engineering background.
  2. Ability to work on own initiative and be able to work well as part of a diverse disconnected team.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong and trustworthy relationships within the organisation and externally.
  4. Great negotiation skills to facilitate mutually agreeable outcomes.
  5. A good level of IT skills.
  6. Readiness to occasionally travel for business.
