MacGregor Black are partnering with a market leading DIY brand, on the search for an Area Sales Manager. This is a permanent role based in West Yorkshire.

As Area Sales Manager You will be reporting to the Sales Manager with the main duties and responsibilities being to develop the business sales area in line with the company goals and any targets.

To operate within the guidelines of the company’s processes, to ensure mutual achievement of budgeted sales turnover and gross margins. Through the distribution network which includes independent accounts, wholesale, and group national accounts, among others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for the development of Regional and some Key Accounts across the North East
  • Accountability for the sales performance of the defined sales area and account base, ensuring targets are met and exceeded
  • Regular use and demonstration of product samples to improve sales results on specific products and within the key categories of business
  • Attend end user trade shows as required which may involve weekend working
  • To work with reporting systems to accurately measure how each customer account is performing in terms of sales turnover against targets
  • Develop & Manage Regional/Key Accounts
  • Target new business opportunities
  • Deliver on budgets and targets
  • Set target plans by brand for territories

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally at least 2 years of field sales experience
  • Good knowledge of the DIY industry and product lines
  • Experience of selling B2B within the area
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Relationship builder able to communicate at all levels
  • Strong listening skills and creative thinker
  • Able to adapt to an everchanging sector
