Major, Lindsey & Africa have been appointed on a retained basis to undertake this search.


Our client is a global investment bank with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financial restructuring, and valuation. The firm serves corporations, institutions, and governments worldwide with offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. This position reports in General Counsel, Europe and it is based in London.


You will provide legal support to the EMEA and APAC regions (consisting of 12 offices), advising and supporting on legal and corporate matters alongside three different business groups (Corporate Finance/M&A, Financial Restructuring and Financial Valuation) and working closely with the firm’s management.


Your responsibilities will be:



  • Advising and supporting on transactional matters, primarily in EMEA and the APAC regions which include both private and public transactions.
  • Reviewing, drafting, advising and negotiating various types of international commercial contacts such as engagement, confidentiality, sub-contracting, consulting, employment and other various intra-group agreements.
  • Assisting with respect to the group’s organizational structure and subsidiary branches which may include implementation of group policies and procedures, preparation of regulatory information to senior management and assisting on company secretary matters.
  • Advising and assisting with respect to firm product knowledge and updating information as required.
  • Assisting with the management of litigation as required.

You will:



  • Have post admitted experience of 4+ years.
  • Be admitted in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction with requisite experience as outlined above.
  • Have the rights to live and work independently in the UK.
  • Enjoy a culture that offers a lot of autonomy and independence working within a flat structure with opportunities to work on a vast ray of project, corporate and commercial matters.
  • Have confidence in your drafting skills.
  • Have experience drafting and negotiating international agreements for multinational corporations to include corporate governance & compliance issues.
  • Be confident in your ability to work collaboratively and autonomously with an approach that is commercial, professional and solutions focused.
