Job Description

Are you qualified or nearly qualified in ACA or ACCA and looking for a change? Our Corporate Finance team are on the hunt for a new Executive. So if you are looking for a varied, challenging, and commercial role this might be the change that you have been looking for!

Ensure all your application information is up to date and in order before applying for this opportunity.

The role

We are looking for that special individual who can demonstrate strong technical ability, who is able to effectively work under pressure with a variety of projects and tasks, keeping the plates spinning behind the scenes, whilst delivering an outstanding client experience.

You will enjoy working as part of a supportive, small and tight knit team, taking ownership of the part you play in the success of the business. You will be able to work independently to achieve the common goals and aims, but able to support, coach and mentor colleagues where needed.

What does a day in the life of a Corporate Finance Executive look like?

The underlying theme in most of the work we’re involved in is shareholder changes. Our transactional services include business sales and acquisitions that can take many forms; trade sales, private equity, management-buyouts, management buy-ins, employee ownership trusts and many other ways for existing shareholders to achieve an exit. Another key area of our work portfolio is business valuations, which can be required for a range of fiscal and non-fiscal reasons.

What makes this an exciting opportunity is your workload will be varied with no two days the same. One day you could be dealing with due diligence for business sales and acquisitions, including meeting with clients to guide them through the process; the next drafting valuation reports, contacting prospective clients, to preparing forecasts and projections. You could be conducting market research, supporting the wider team on projects, and will have lots of contact at client meetings supporting the team. Due to the nature of the role the ability to adapt to emerging tasks and changing priorities is essential.

You will be personable, conscientious, and committed. You will enjoy or have a passion to develop the business as well as the technical knowledge and know how to support our clients.

If you are passionate about delivering a high-quality service to our clients, this is a great opportunity for you.

Experience

Does this sound like you?

  • Have at least three years’ Corporate Finance, Audit or Accounting experience, ideally in a Practice environment
  • Have achieved or nearly achieved your ACA/ACCA qualification
  • Have a full driving license and access to independent transport
  • Be a team player who enjoys working as part of a busy team to achieve team targets
  • Be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen
  • Be competent using Microsoft Office and other software applications

If you are interested in a confidential chat, please speak to a member of the HR team or reach out to the Corporate Finance team if there is a specific question you are keen to know before applying. All applicants will be dealt with confidentially.

What’s in it for you?

We offer an attractive reward and benefits package which you can tailor to suit your needs.

  • Full study support and commitment to continued learning & development, with a personalised development plan during your probationary period and beyond
  • Salary between £42-47,000 depending on experience, plus a sign-on bonus of £5,000
  • A culture that promotes work life balance and opportunity for some work from home where that fits with the team’s needs.
  • 36 Days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays and 3 days off over the Christmas period
  • Life Assurance up to 4x salary and contribution towards the Firm’s pension scheme from day one
  • Access to mental health support and a wide variety of other benefits are available through our employee hub.
  • Access to our Health Cash Plan from your first month with us
  • Opportunity to participate in the Scrutton Bland Foundation, supporting the local community

Every new team member will experience a full induction and training programme where you will get up to speed on our systems, processes, and ways of working.
