White Label Recruitment are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join a highly regarded research-based manufacturing company who specialises in laboratory equipment and distributes to companies across the UK and internationally.

The successful design engineer would be required to have 2-5 years design experience and would be working with a world leading SME business on highly technical equipment.
Working with other team members, key parts of the role will include: • Mechanical design of company products • Liaising with suppliers and customers • Working with MRP packages for creating BoMs • Interfacing with manufacturing and sales teams to produce designs to strict deadlines • Keeping records for traceability purposes • Providing input to the design and sales teams to facilitate creation of tenders • Problem solving with the production team • Creating system schematics • Quality checking designed components Desirable skills include: • Experience with 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks • Experience with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing • PDM experience desirable but not essential • Knowledge of working with sheet metal and aluminium / stainless-steel machined components • Working knowledge of motors, pneumatics, electronic components • Project management experience • Customer and Supplier communication
- the role requires excellent communication skills Candidates should thus be excellent team-workers with good communication skills, possess engineering qualifications (ideally to degree level) relevant to the design/construction of state-of -the-art research systems and must have 4+ years experience in 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks).
Strong initiative, a self-organised nature and the desire to meet deadlines under pressure are also essential.
Relevant work experience and some knowledge of electronics are distinct advantages.
