We are working in partnership with a leading FMCG Food manufacturer who are now seeking a Development Technologist to join their NPD Team due to sustained success and growth.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have a Food related degree (or equivalent) with experience of working within Technical or New Product Development, prioritising multiple tasks, managing to critical path and will be responsible for delivering a seamless concept to launch process.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take products and projects through each stage of development from concept to launch, ensuring paperwork and systems are maintained and accurate at all stages.
  • Conduct shelf life, transit and any other required product testing.
  • Ensure the business is BRC audit ready at all times through consistent maintenance of systems and paperwork.
  • Ensure all key stakeholders are informed of any issues in a timely manner.
  • Support recipe change process, ensuring accuracy at all stages and that each recipe is accurately input into the system with all changes in line with the relevant critical path and procedure.
  • Create theoretical nutritional’s for all new food recipes and ensure analytical testing is completed in line with critical path.
  • Working with the Process and Operational teams to calculate accurate food, packaging and labour costings.
  • Arrange any necessary product validations including consumer cooking.
  • Attend and play an active role in all relevant site meetings including weekly NPD meetings.
  • Assist with the Artwork process ensuring accurate handovers between departments and agencies.
  • Work alongside Technical, Process and Procurement to ensure excellent sourcing of new raw materials.
  • Play an active role in developing food in accordance with the company values.
  • Attend all relevant tastings and drive food and quality culture.
  • Ensure chefs have required sourced ingredients and benchmarks to support the recipe development.
  • Take active involvement in quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure accurate data and information is available and prepared for meetings, tasting, stakeholders and key decision points.
