The Team
Channels Enabling Platform is made up of labs that power online banking in distinct and innovative ways. From Intelligent Automation, to Cyber Security, the role of the Digital Risk Manager is to partner with the labs to continually assess and identify potential risks, evaluating these to ensure they follow appropriate governance channels, policies, procedures, and controls.
We strive to be the preferred financial partner for our personal customers and the best bank for business. As a result, one of our key strategic focuses is the modernisation of our technology, and the Digital Risk Manager has a meaningful role to ensure we do this in a controlled way.
We ll help deliver better customer service and adapt more quickly by building a cloud-based architecture that is scalable, safe and efficient. We ll expand the use of machine learning and simplify our legacy technology and architecture.
The Channels Enabling Risk team are also responsible for the rollout of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework within Channels Enabling Platform, which enables the business to take active ownership in the self-assessment of risks they own and controls they operate.
Specific accountabilities:

  • Identify and assess risks to ensure the business (Channels Enabling Platform) is well governed
  • Lead and guide the business on the implementation and assessment of controls
  • Lead our monthly cross-divisional risk committee with senior executives
  • Identify areas of improvement to drive efficiency
  • Plan and deliver a series of risk reviews / deep dives to produce insightful analysis, recommendations and advice to influence decisions in relevant areas of the business
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within the business and across the three lines of defence
  • Maintain consistent levels of personal and capability development, including the understanding of new threats, new technologies and emerging risks

Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of risk management and control assessment methodology
  • Excellent communicator and translator of technical concepts into business language
  • Confident challenging the status quo and influencing senior colleagues
  • Ability to simultaneously lead multiple activities
  • Desire to learn and develop
