A day in the life of…


As Director of Sales, you will own all the aspects of the Sales and Marketing Plan and manage in line with Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA systems and brand requirements.


Further responsibilities will include:



  • Demonstrate sustained achievement in a similar role, managing the Sales function.
  • Have large Meetings space Sales experience and Account Management of MICE agents.
  • Must have a proven record of accomplishment of success at increasing revenues through Sales activities and meeting targets and budgets.
  • Experience of working within and leading a structured team environment and able to demonstrate effective coaching skills.
  • Demonstrate your network knowledge of the city and key clients booking large MICE.
  • Strong commercial outlook – sales and revenue driven.
  • Excellent sales, customer care, account management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic and good team player.
  • Driven and determined to achieve results.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
  • A willingness to travel throughout the UK & Europe (presenting to prospective partner organisations, meeting and entertaining clients, attending trade fairs/shows).
  • Knowledge ofPMS and CRM systems preferred, although training will be given (Opera & Salesforce specifically).
  • Corporate account knowledge, to direct the sales manager, would be preferred.

Based in the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.


What do we need from you?


To be successful in this role,we will be looking for someone that has a proven track record in a similar role and worked in a major city within a branded hotel environment. Excellent sales, customer care, account management and negotiation skills, along with strong presentation and influencing skills are needed in order to achieve results.


A good knowledge of PMS and CRM systems preferred, although training will be given.


Due to the nature of the role, there will be some travel throughout the region as and when appropriate.
