Are you an Electrical Design Engineer with controls and software experience?
We're looking for an Electrical Design and Software Engineer to join an industrial equipment provider based in Darwen, Lancashire. Combining the strengths of two market leaders, the group has a combined turnover of $140M million and is growing.
The main purpose of this role is to design and deliver specialist handling and automated solutions across a range of industries including food and drink, pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial. We are looking for someone hands-on, can manage their time effectively and has a positive approach.
Experience required:
- Designing electrical systems for new machinery, also maintaining/servicing and repairs.
- Customer exposure - working with customers on-site and managing expectations and delivery.
- Thorough admin and reporting skills.
- Ideally with some exposure to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing).
Skills required:
- The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, with an interest in electricals in manufacturing.
- 3 years minimum experience as an Electrical Engineer (Software/Controls focused) or as an Electrical Software and Controls Engineer.
- HNC/HND or similar
- Experience of AutoCAD, 2D exposure is essential (the company uses SEE electrical).
- Experience with software controls and PLC programming (Allen Bradley is essential whilst Siemens is beneficial).
- HMI programming and knowledge of variable speed drives.
- Excellent communicator to develop and build customer relationships and ensuring repeat custom.
- Positive attitude working as a team and supporting colleagues.
- Working with and supporting cross-departmental – design, engineers, purchasing, shop floor.
- UK driving licence is essential. Willingness to travel UK and Oversees.
The package:
- Circa £45,000 - £50,000 + overtime and £6-8k bonus scheme
- -Quarterly bonus is based on department KPIs (last quarter paid out £2200).
- -Working hours are 8-16.45 Monday to Thursday and a half-day on Fridays (8am-12.30pm)
- -24 days holiday plus statutory days
- Training and development is offered and can be addressed and tailored at request.
