Edward Reed is working on a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional to lead and develop the finance function in an exciting and fast growing entrepreneurial Healthcare business. The business is founder owned and has recently had a significant investment from a Family Office to help accelerate growth.

As Financial Director you will be responsible for the financial leadership and oversight of the finance function in a rapidly expanding business. The role will involve ensuring robust financial management to help deliver the financial strategy and growth plans.

Job Role

  • Provide finance leadership reporting to the CEO in a board role
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of management and statutory accounts and KPI reports.
  • Effective financial management, providing accurate and insightful financial analysis
  • Lead on financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting and cash management.
  • Robust cashflow monitoring and management
  • Financial appraisal of new business opportunities/joint venture opportunities.
  • Oversight of statutory returns and compliance requirements.
  • Review of complex financial models to support financial forecasting and investment decisions.
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Family Office Investors and the bank

Business Support

  • Co-ordinate a timely budget process; provide sufficient challenge and analysis to the numbers and discuss with the Management Team and Board
  • Contribute to the strategic business development dialogue by challenging assumptions and decision making, making recommendations to the Board
  • Support the company with commercial contract reviews
  • Liaison with external service providers – for example, managed IT and telecoms services

Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required

  • A team player that is hard working and driven to succeed
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ ACMA / ACCA)
  • A qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE.
  • Experience of working in an SME
  • Strong leadership skills to lead, motivate and develop a finance team.
  • Experience of managing and reporting financial performance
  • Some Family Office or Private Equity experience
  • Experience of working in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience of successfully delivering financial systems change projects / programmes
