Our client, a rapidly growing company within a major European retail, trade and services group, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of their finance function at their Berkhamsted office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join at an exciting stage and make a significant impact shaping the finance function.
The Role As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the complete financial management and reporting for the UK entity. This is a hands-on role leading all aspects of finance from transactional processing through to monthly management accounts. Specific responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packages
- Cash flow forecasting and management
- Balance sheet reconciliations and controls
- Statutory reporting requirements (VAT, P&L etc.)
- Supervision of the accounts assistant
- Ownership of the full accounting cycle - payables, receivables, reconciliations
- Liaising with auditors for year-end statutory audits
- Financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting/projects
The Finance Manager For this broad role, you must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or have significant relevant experience managing a finance functions or junior member of a team. Specific key strengths required:
- Demonstrated experience across the full accounting cycle
- Very strong technical accounting skills
- Experience producing high quality management reports and commentary
- Excellent communication skills to engage with non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills are essential
- Knowledge of accounting software like Xero, Sage etc.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
