Job Description

A tech for good company in Scotland is looking for an experienced Front End Angular Engineer to join their team. The company has scaled up over the last few years and have created an innovative solution that is benefiting the environment massively.
Due to some internal promotions, they are a looking to backfill their Front End Angular Engineer position. You will be expected to be the Front End specialist in the software team, so if that sounds like you, then this could be the perfect role for you.
What will I be doing?
Great question!
Technology underpins the entire business, so as you can imagine, their tech team is quite important
As mentioned, you will be the Front End specialist in the team so experience in a similar type of role would be ideal. You'll be working on the interface of their main product that is used by their customers, so it's obviously a key role for them. Your role will be to add new features that the UX/UI Designer brings to you, turning their designs into functional interfaces. From there, you'll work with the rest of the Developers to connect the Front End & Back End, making sure everything matches up.
Their Full Stack/Back End Developers work with C# & .Net and they're ideally looking for someone that has experience working in a Microsoft environment. You won't ever have to do C# coding, but they feel like having previous experience working within a Microsoft environment, it would be extremely helpful.
Their front end is built in Angular & TypeScript and experience with this is essential for the role.
Who am I?
As mentioned, you'll need to have experience working with Angular & TypeScript and their looking for someone at mid/senior level. As mentioned, it's a crucial role for them so they unfortunately don't have the capacity to train someone that doesn't have experience with this.
The company are working on a product that is doing great things for the environment and with that, they are a very passionate bunch. They're looking for someone that is just as passionate about saving the planet, so if that sounds like you then please apply!
Who will I be working with?
The team is made up of a UX/UI Designer, Full Stack Devs, Back End Devs, Data Engineers, Testers and lots of other tech specialists. You'll work very closely with everyone as they're a very collaborative group, but you'll work especially close with the Designer and Devs.
As mentioned, the reason the role has come about is due to internal promotions, so you'll be able to bounce ideas off the person that has been in the role for the last few years, which is obviously super helpful.
With social good at the heart of what they do, not only are you getting a chance to work for what, in my opinion, is one of the most exciting companies in Scotland, you'll also have a positive impact on the world.
How much will I be getting paid and where will I be based?
You'll probably want to know this before applying...
There is a budget in place of up to £65,000 for the role but they could potentially stretch this for someone that is a perfect fit. With added benefits which include a strong holiday package, career growth, strong pension, private healthcare and the chance to work on something that genuinely matters!
Due to the collaborative nature of the team, they expect you to be on-site a few days per week. They have offices both in Edinburgh and Glasgow and have a preference for someone to be in the Edinburgh office, but they are flexible on this.
If you're a specialist Front End Angular Developer that wants to work for a tech for good company, which is doing amazing things for the planet, then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Technology.
