PURPOSE OF ROLE

Diageo possesses an exciting network of websites from our brand home sites to full-fledged D2C sites like thebar.com and malts.com . This role sits above all sites as a guardian of excellence. To meet our ambition to be one of the most trusted and respected consumer product companies in the world we want to ensure all websites a) have the best consumer experience possible and b) are managed to the highest reputational standards. We are looking for someone who will drive this strategy into execution in partnership with our brand teams, commercial teams, Data & Technology (D&T) and legal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As Diageo’s owned digital ecosystem expands, you have the crucial role of defining the best way to set up and run our websites globally, bringing structure, process and best-practice.

  • Create and update relevant global playbooks and guidelines, with detailed instructions for markets and brand teams to roll out and operate non-D2C sites and brand websites

  • Optimize the global landscape of Diageo consumer websites – in partnership with local owners – ensuring we only have sites that are relevant for our consumers and Diageo

  • Partner with D&T to support brand and market teams with the execution of websites end-to-end

  • Build a network and community of digital product managers across assets, supporting them with leadership and excellence in the best standards in analytics, compliance, SEO, data collection, user experience and commerce.

  • Use your knowledge to set a standard for user experience (UX) on our websites from landing on a homepage, browsing a product page to booking their distillery visit.

  • Be a champion of consumer experience.

  • Ensure consumer data is used to optimize and personalize the experience, in the moment and as part of the ongoing consumer experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 10 years in digital with core focus on website experience.

  • SME in Websites - You understand UX (User Experience), conversation rate optimization, bounce rates and more.

  • You are a responsible marketer. You understand the way to age-gate our websites, what data to ask for, and how to protect our websites, and think of creative ways to innovate within these critical guardrails.

  • Able to talk technical language around website software and infrastructure and can discuss these topics comfortably.

  • You understand that websites require multiple teams working together. You are a collaborator that can bring all those teams together working in the same direction.

  • A strategic leader, able to turn strategy into action, and stay focused on delivery of plan.

  • Can communicate complex information in a simple, straight-forward, persuasive way.

  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to influence, persuade and lead broader teams, cross-functionally

  • Ability to confidently present plans and ideas, often to a senior audience

  • Self-starter who is comfortable with a constantly evolving environment
