About the role
The HR/EEO Investigator is responsible for reviewing complaints and planning, conducting, and communicating results of investigations into alleged misconduct. The investigator will serve as a neutral fact finder to conduct investigations in a thorough and objective manner to provide recommendations in conjunction with Ethics and Compliance, HR and Legal, handling a case load of 30-60 cases.

*Ability to travel 50-75% of the time*

What you'll be doing

  • Investigations all HR matters particularly pertaining to complaints of protected classes, harassment and discrimination.
  • Create investigation plans to ensure understanding of the situation.
  • Conduct interviews with all parties involved to get an understanding of the situation.
  • Communicate with complainants, respondents and/or others regarding the plan and timeline for completion.
  • Gather and retain all relevant supporting documents, notes, and information.
  • Provide facts and recommendations to the Operations team in conjunction with HR, Ethics and Compliance and Legal if necessary.
  • Assist in periodic reporting to necessary internal groups.
  • Prepare reports of investigation (or executive summaries in lieu of reports) documenting findings, case details, and conducting root cause analysis to identify contributing factors for substantiated misconduct.
  • Submit weekly status reports
  • Engage in proactive, strategic approach to Employee Relations by identifying employee relations trends, recommending solutions that address root-cause of potential ER issues, and partnering with leadership on developing and executing action plans.
  • Complete all paperwork relating to the investigation including all necessary notes.
  • Maintain accurate records of complaints, assessments, investigations, outcomes, and communications .

 Typical Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands to manipulate phones, computer keyboard and similar tools. Ability to view computer screens, mobile devices, and other electronic equipment, for extended periods of time. Sit and stand to perform administrative work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs.

Work is performed in an office environment. Employee must travel throughout the company footprint as required.

Who we're looking for

  • Five years’ experience in professional experience conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
  • In depth knowledge of the federal and state laws pertaining to civil rights, discrimination, harassment and affirmative action, particularly the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 (EEO) required
  • Demonstrated ability to compose clear, concise, timely and professionally written investigation reports, manage confidential information.
  • Labor relations experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and job knowledge in federal and state employment laws
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, manage several projects and excel under tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of time
  • Possession of a valid state issues driver’s license and safe driving record are required
