HR Workday Application Implementation Specialist Hybrid / WFH / Worthing, West Sussex

£600 to £650 per day (Outside IR35) / 6 months rolling / Worthing based with flexible hybrid working, usually 1 or 2 days per week in the office

My client a leading technology strong professional services company is seek an experiencedApplication Support Specialist, who has experience with Workday and specifically its HR & Payroll modules.

My client are moving from using SAP over to Workday and this role will be at the forefront of that transition and ongoing management of the system.

Primary scope of the HR Workday Application Implementation Specialist role would be:
Implement new business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating as necessary.
Support new project implementation aligned with business objective and solution architecture.
Implement new releases of existing business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integrating as necessary.
Provide 2nd line support (L2-4 as applicable) for business applications under role scope.
Produce specifications and designs for application and its components to meet defined business needs, retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures.
Specify, design and maintain mechanisms for storage and access to both structured and unstructured information, in support of business information needs.
Design, create, test and document new and amended programme components, configuration, SQL, packages, code base and programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards.
Develop, implement and report the findings of suitable test schedules to measure and improve the quality of application solutions being deployed, to ensure that new and amended systems, configurations, packages, or services, together with any interfaces, perform as specified.

Other requirements for the HR Workday Application Implementation Specialist role would be:
Integrate and test components and/or subsystems and their interfaces in order to create operational services.
Facilitate productive relationships with and between key stakeholders, during the Planning management and implementation of business change, as applicable.
Ensure that project and business application support documentation is maintained.
Coordinate the work of suppliers and contractors during the development, testing and implementation of new or upgraded business modules or solutions.
Support and maintain the database infrastructure which underpins the Companys business applications and enterprise reporting requirements.
Provide estimates for scope of works and associated resourcing requirements for project planning purposes.

Major accountabilities of the HR Workday Application Implementation Specialist role:

The role will be expected to liaise with the Solution Architecture, Service delivery and project delivery counterparts, to ensure that the applications are supported & projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Approx % of time spent in role:
1.Responsible for application support and Continual Improvement taking into account functional and non-functional requirements 50%.
2.Work with an Implementation Partner/contractors to coordinate the development/implementation of services/application/component and the Configuration Management Database 20%.
3.Performing integration and process automation as per support or project need 10%.
4.Performing system and integration testing 10%.
5.Implementing IT quality assurance practices and procedures 10%.

Experience and capability requirements Knowledge/experience for theHR Workday Application Implementation Specialist role:
Excellent technical knowledge and experience in Workday HR and Payroll Modules.
Experience with HR / Payroll project implementation.
Proven hands-on experience of Workday HR / Payroll support, configuration and integration.
Good functional knowledge in UK Payroll rules and in HMRC Legislative topics.
Experience of working in large scale and complex Workday/SAP environments.
Excellent understanding of configuration dependencies and integration points between Workday modules of HR and Payroll with SAP Finance.

Capabilities require for the HR Workday Application Implementation Specialist role:
Technical knowledge and experience in Workday HR and Payroll Process.
Knowledge and understanding of UK HR and Payroll Business Processes.
Experience in issue analysis and recommend solutions for Workday HR/ Payroll related technical changes.
Experience in impact analysis of Workday updates for HR / Payroll modules.
Act as single point of contact for Workday HR/Payroll related technical issues to project and support teams./
In-depth knowledge of Workday HR and Payroll process with a proven track record of supporting, implementing and improving applications.
Knowledge IT Service Management toolsets, including Knowledge Base & Configuration Management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexible and a proactive team player.
