Job Description

The Inside Sales Account Manager will join a global team of experienced sales/business development professionals who will actively drive growth and awareness of Oxford Nanopore Technologies’ products. They will be responsible along with the Field Team, for implementing a strategic business plan and delivering to agreed commercial targets within the Territory. This role will focus on driving sales growth through established and new customers in a Territory within the DACH region.

The Inside Sales Account Manager will develop and drive commercial growth through direct sales channels. They will be responsible for growing product usage per user and accelerating lead conversion, as well as working to ensure the retention and progression of existing customers by actively building relationships. The position is supported by Customer Service, Technical Support and Application Teams.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling incoming sales leads and nurturing to conversion
  • Gather potential Key Account information and identify and close new opportunities within Territory.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for commercial activity to disrupt the existing NGS market.
  • Understanding of funding cycles and decision-making process in designated Accounts
  • Delivering to the agreed commercial targets for MinION, GridION and PromethION systems
  • Adhere to best practices for tracking, recording, and documenting relevant commercial intelligence from all customer interactions.
  • Strategic outbound prospecting for new business
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
  • Manage incoming sales leads and nurture to conversion.
  • Actively implement sales campaigns at the guidance of the marketing and communication teams

What We're Looking For...

A BSc degree and/or Masters (preferably in Life Sciences, genetics and genomics), a PhD may be advantageous but isn't required for the role. You'll have prior sales experience, preferably inside sales and have worked with research/life science customers and you know your way around CRM systems.

You will have an understanding of current DNA sequencing technologies and their applications, strong communication and influencing skills and knowledge of the Life Sciences and Genomics market!

You will be an excellent team player and able to build positive relationships with others. Ideally, you have experience of working in a global team, and you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

You have strong communication skills and are fluent in German and English, written and verbal.

You have a positive approach with a can-do mindset and are able to use your initiative as well as exercise good judgement and tact.
