We are seeking a skilled and reliable EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) Equipment Installation Technician to join our team. Based in Portsmouth at our Waterlooville office. You will be responsible for conducting on-site installations of EPOS equipment at customer locations around the country. Additionally, you will assist in the building and setup of EPOS equipment in our Waterlooville office build area when not on installation assignments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong IT background, demonstrate reliability and punctuality, and be capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team. This role is perfect for someone currently in a junior technical support role who is looking to further their responsibilities and gain hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site installations of EPOS equipment at various locations, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and provide tailored installation solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions during installations with support from office based team.
- Assist in the assembly and configuration of EPOS equipment at the office, ensuring quality standards are met and required testing is carried out.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, including documentation of equipment configuration and locations to assist support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve installation processes and procedures providing feedback and suggestions to team lead.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and protocols at all times, both on-site and in the warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of IT fundamentals and familiarity with windows based EPOS systems.
- Proven experience in technical installations, preferably in the EPOS or retail industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the assignment.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment when required.
- Valid full UK driver's license and willingness to travel to various locations for installations including occasional overnight stays when required.
