My client in the Education industry are seeking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic IT Technician with excellent IT and communication skills, attention to detail and a keen willingness to learn. This role would suit a candidate looking for first step into an IT role within education and full training will be given. Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and the Google platform is essential. The role is varied and will involve working on your own initiative, as well as part of a team.

• Be willing to learn and support the work of the Central IT Team in a wide range of tasks
• Have the ability to work with Microsoft Office software, Google and the willingness to undertake further training
• Be able to follow strict technical procedures and policies and communicate them to other staff
• Have the interest and enthusiasm to play an active part in school life
• Have a current full driving license

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To work under the direction of the IT Management Service Provider and Deputy IT Manager to maintain IT resources and provide technical IT support across the Trust including to:
• Connect, set up and check PCs and peripherals for normal operation
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including installing basic software packages and setting common options.
• Maintain stand-alone PCs and complete hardware upgrades
• Perform routine maintenance tasks for user accounts; run basic network monitoring reports and utilities
• Carrying out daily back-up, archiving, housekeeping and other maintenance tasks on a regular and as required basis as directed by the IT Management Service Provider and Deputy IT Manager
• Make sure all fault logs for specified locations are kept up to date
• Monitor the condition of network resources and reporting any damage or problems to the teacher concerned, the head of department and the IT Management Service Provider and Deputy IT Manager
• To help with the set-up, maintenance and monitoring of student and staff Chromebooks
• Sending equipment for repair
• Follow school backup, virus protection and security procedures.
• To work with the Cyber Hub leader to maintain a register of equipment and monitor loaning of equipment to local schools as requested, checking equipment out and back in and recording any damage or loss and actioning repair or replacement
• Provide technical advice for school staff and support in lessons where appropriate.
• Assist teaching staff to set up IT equipment for lessons when required.

Purpose:

• To provide technical support and maintenance service for the IT provision across the schools under direction of the IT Management Service Provider and Deputy IT Manager.
• To support CBAT students and staff in the effective use of IT
• To administer the loaning of Cyber Hub equipment to local schools

Skillset:

Working knowledge of
Windows 10 and PC hardware
Excellent literacy/numeracy skills.
Ability to work to instruction
Knowledge of Server environments
Ability to work in an organised and methodical way
A commitment to improving their own practise
