The International and Structured Finance Department has approximately 230 staff members across the EMEA region
International and Structured Finance Department has 5 Income originating Units with 8 booking teams, 2 coverage teams and 1 advisory team.
Internal Planning Groups supports all of these in addition to supporting Management and the Project Finance exposure management team.
Job Description
Exciting opportunity for a Japanese International and Structured Finance - Director with a Global Corporate & Investment Bank. London.
THE ROLE
- Leading and supporting the various members of the Internal Planning Group with the day to day responsibilities.
- Take an active role in the various initiatives undertaken by the department.
- Leading the customer profitability initiative.
- Leading various reporting to head office and the Bank
- The role sits within the Internal Planning Group, reporting into the Head of the team.
- The team has a wide range of functions but primarily are responsible for
- Checking, collating and reporting the financial performance of the department against various Key Performance Indicators to various internal and external stakeholders
- Managing the departments pipeline of transactions to ensure no limit or budget breaches
- Supporting the information and reporting requirements of front office staff
- Paying and monitoring all expense related invoices
- Represent the department in numerous Bank wide projects
- Leading portfolio control and profitability improvement
- Know Your Customer applications and reviews
- Customer Data Maintenance
- General Administrative support including meeting arrangements, travel booking etc…
Accountabilities & Responsibilities- Acting as point of contact for Planning Team to provide help, guidance and advice mainly for pipeline and asset monitoring
- Collaborate and liaise with Management, Relationship Managers and STPD members for leading various reporting and initiatives, relevant to structured finance business, new business creations
- Review customer exposure and profitability to identify low performing customers and transactions for sale and distribution opportunity, using a variety of measurements
- Liaise with Loan Capital Markets and procure necessary information for investors and supporting due diligence process
- Leading the preparation and management of regular Planning Reporting, Weekly, Monthly, other. This would include but not be limited to:
- EMEA Meeting materials: Sustainable Finance pipeline report, KPI report, Financial Projections, Deal Pipeline, Deal of the Month, Key Initiatives, Good Control, Double Count Applications, Self Assessment materials
- HO reporting
- The Bank Executive Committee materials: Main slides, Asset Projector
- Any ad-hoc requirements from HO and The Bank
- Assembles ad hoc reports as requested by manager
- Support to credit monitoring relevant to HO and regulatory requirements on an ad-hoc basis
- Acting as point of contact for Planning Team to provide help, guidance and advice mainly for pipeline and asset monitoring

The Successful Applicant

The candidate:
- Knowledge and experience of Corporate Finance and/or Project Finance
- Advanced skills in Microsoft products
- Fluent Japanese language for communications with various HO functions
- Understanding capital market products including derivatives, DCM, and securitizations desirable
- Understanding asset management business desirable
- The ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel under pressure and to time constraints with significant changes.
- The ability to work well with colleagues in multiple roles and at most levels of seniority across EMEA and other regions.
- Knowledge and experience of Corporate Finance and/or Project Finance
