Job Description

Home > Job > Lead Bereavement Family Support Worker

Living On Bereavement Service is recruiting a Lead Family Support Worker to join our small but busy Children’s charity. We are looking for someone who has an approachable manner and is able to think on their feet and respond to enquiries and referrals that come in on a day-to-day basis and who has the desire and initiative to develop a clinical service to meet the needs of bereaved children, young people and their families.

We work creatively in a therapeutic space with children in one-to-one sessions where we help them to tell their story, understand death and dying, find ways to manage their feelings and their grief and help them to collect memories of their loved one. We also run various peer support group sessions and family events throughout the year. The main aim of these group sessions and events is to help to alleviate the feeling of isolation and bring bereaved families together.

For this role you will need to be comfortable working independently as well as within a team, and being able to use your initiative without supervision is essential. You will be dealing with matters of a sensitive and confidential nature and this role therefore demands strict confidentiality, both internally and externally at all times. You will report to the Board of Trustees and have day-to-day line management support from the Clinical Lead.

Location: Chelsfield Village/Orpington area
Reports to: The Board of Trustees
Hours: £40,000 pa pro-rata, 30 hours / 4 days per week (7.5 hours per day)
Closing date: Friday 23 June at 12.00noon
Interviews:  3 July 2023

If you are interested in joining our team please send CV’s and an email to Heather@livingon.org.uk , you are welcome to get in touch with any questions that you may have.
