Spencer Ogden is partnered with an international Renewables consultancy at the forefront of energy innovation across offshore wind, marine renewables, hydrogen and carbon capture. Due to the recent growth within the business, their Environmental unit is actively seeking an experienced Lead Marine Physical and Coastal Processes consultant to join the team and implement a best practice delivery on the subject across a variety of sectors.

Where you will be based can be flexible with multiple office hubs across the UK and remote working available.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Background in Marine Sciences or Environmental Engineering
  2. Eight years of experience in marine physical and coastal processes assessments with similar experience delivering EIA or HRA assessments
  3. Proven record of leading teams or mentoring junior colleagues
  4. Good numerical modelling experience (hydrodynamic, wave, or sediment transport) for marine assessments
  5. Proven track record on managing marine projects (gathering data, conducting surveys, utilising spatial software) for renewable energy developments
  6. Experienced in managing stakeholders and conveying information to different clients

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead delivery of Marine and Coastal Assessments for diverse energy and coastal developments. You will oversee entire project lifecycle, from pre-consent to managing, monitoring and design
  2. Producing reports and presentation of complex technical information
  3. Assuming leadership on stakeholder engagement function. You will engage with clients, foster relationships, act as a company representative and lead project objectives
  4. Upskill and Innovate junior colleagues and address EIA and HRA challenges, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  5. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams such as ecologists and engineering specialists on how to achieve holistic solutions
  6. Contribute towards business development by identifying new opportunities and projects and driving growth of the organisation global footprint
