Job Description

Lead OOH Vet - Barton Veterinary Hospital & Surgery

Are you looking for a role that will give you a fantastic work-life balance, whilst also being clinically fulfilling?

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Lead OOH Vet to lead our team at our MiNightVet service in Canterbury.

Based within Barton Veterinary Hospital, we are a dedicated Out-of-Hours service providing first-class emergency care to our client's pets. We work through the night and at weekends ensuring that all patients brought through the doors are treated with the same urgency and care that we would use for our own pets.

We provide hospitalisation and in-patient care for the surrounding practices, as well as seeing emergency appointments as needed. Our Hospital is extremely well equipped, allowing us to deal with emergency situations in the best way possible.

Your rota pattern would look like this:

  • 7 nights on, followed by 21 nights off (19:00 to 08:00)
  • 1 in 4 weekend day shifts (08:00 to 20:30)
  • Bank holiday day cover, 2 a year (08:00 to 20:30)

Working on this rota gives us all the chance to see a variety of interesting cases, challenge ourselves clinically and work in synergy with the superb Barton day team!

We are extremely proud of our MiNightVet team and the service we provide to our clients. If you are enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about being an ECC Vet, you'll fit right in! As our Lead Vet, you will be responsible for the clinical performance of our team, along with rota management and relationship management with our member practices.

In return, we can offer you:

  • An excellent, highly competitive salary
  • Structured support and development of your clinical skills with the potential for support in gaining a fully funded certificate in ECC.
  • Opportunity to join our Sharesave scheme, allowing you buy shares in our business
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Company pension scheme
  • Colleague discount on pet products and treatments
  • Other flexible benefits such as Cycle to Work scheme, Gymflex and more!
