Lead Software Engineer
Shoobs is a Y Combinator backed online discovery & ticketing platform. We are on a mission to give event organisers and upcoming artists a voice within a vastly competitive market. From celebratory club nights, and concerts, to comedy nights, networking events & more.
We are at an exciting stage of development and looking for a talented and experienced Lead Engineer to join this forward-thinking and vibrant start-up on a full-time basis. You will have a good understanding of software and cloud architecture and will be able to engage across the business to influence the product roadmap. You will be building upon an existing strong foundation.
You’ll play a key role in shaping our product for the future and changing the landscape of ticketing & events and will report directly to our CEO. Your responsibilities include:
Technical Responsibilities:
Lead and contribute to the design and development of our end-to-end productProduce effective and efficient clean code for web and mobile applicationsTroubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing softwareCollaborate, develop and execute on product roadmapsAid in the evaluation and integration of new tools, vendors, and technologiesManage and drive adoption of AWS cloudManagerial Responsibilities:Present department-level technical metrics, financials, and roadmap to leadershipHelp to recruit, train, support, and retain our technical teamEstablish guidelines and employee on-boarding and utilisation procedures for internal and third-party tech productsBe a subject matter expert and provide the company with best practices and recommendations on current and emerging technologies
Your Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of Ruby on Rails experienceFront-end technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworksCloud computing platforms (preferably AWS)SQL & NoSQL database development, management and maintenanceIntegrated payment systems, Stripe or similarKnowledge of industry-standard continuous integration and delivery best practices for releasing software
It would be nice if you also have:Experience as a lead developer and/or technical team manager on previous projectsAn interest in music, events and/or urban culture
