🧑💻 Lead Software Test Engineer
📍 Coventry (2 days per week)
💷 Up to £65,000
🚀 Progression into a QA Manager / Head of QA position
We are looking for a Lead Software Tester to join our clients fledgling team and take ownership of a small QA function that is looking to expand over the next 18 months. Within this role you'll work to improve and streamline the testing function, review and implement automation testing and be the technical lead for a small team of testers, as well as be hands-on in testing the company's products. As a result, you'll have a direct route into QA management and the business are keen to offer clear, constructed progression for the right candidate.
The company build data-driven SaaS solutions for their customers and have a range of web & mobile applications that support key services across the UK so experience across multiple platforms is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform both manual and (where applicable) automated testing
- Create and implement test plans
- Define and refine testing strategies, processes and best practices
- Provide technical leadership to the QA team
Requirements:
- Experienced in software testing and quality assurance, with experience in a senior or lead role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience in developing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Knowledge of implementing automated testing tools (Selenium preferred but not essential) and Azure DevOps
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with programming languages (C#, SQL. JavaScript etc)
- Relevant certifications in Quality Assurance and Software Testing are advantageous, such as ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level.
Candidates must be British Citizens or hold ILR / Settled status to be eligible to apply. You must also be prepared to travel to Coventry 2 days per week as a minimum.
