The Role

The Legal Counsel will act as a part of the Carnival UK Legal Department providing legal advice and support to all parts of the Carnival UK business. You will take a proactive role in encouraging and enabling cross-functional working between departments.

As Legal Counsel you will be:

  • Working in partnership with our Procurement department to draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts (e.g. supply of goods and services of many different types including in the maritime, IT, on board service provider and media areas ).
  • Advising on pricing and advertising compliance (ASA/CAP Code, Trading Standards).
  • Developing an understanding of applicable travel law including the Package Travel Regulations.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK 07 and is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis, with at least two days based in our Southampton office.

Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need to be a qualified solicitor with experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with multiple stakeholders.
