We are working with one of the UK's most well-known children's charities to recruit an in-house commercial legal counsel.

Your new role
As a Commercial Legal Counsel, part of a growing legal and company secretariat team, you will provide strategic legal advice and support to enable the delivery of the charity's mission across a broad range of activities and functions. Your work will have a focus on drafting, negotiating and advising on key contracts, data protection, intellectual property, fundraising law and regulation and public procurement. You will also support the charity's governance and related legal and regulatory compliance, and the resolution of disputes and complaints.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Qualified England & Wales solicitor, ideally between 2–4 years' post-qualification experience, although those with more or less years' experience will be considered.
- Demonstrable experience in commercial law and public procurement.
- Thorough understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
- A broad understanding of the legal and regulatory framework within which the charity operates.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
What you'll get in return
- A salary commensurate with experience, c. £65,000
- 1 office day per week (central London). Travel will be covered for those living outside of London.
- 26 days annual leave + bank holidays + the ability to buy up to another 5 days
- Group Personal Pension Plan – the charity will match your contribution up to 6%
- Death in service cover - up to 4x annual earnings
