Role

A global role providing high quality and timely legal and compliance advice to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide high quality and timely legal support to the business in line with its objectives, the department’s objectives and personal objectives
  • Draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts with suppliers and customers across the clinical services, unlicensed and commercial medicines divisions.
  • Provide legal training to internal stakeholders.
  • Support regional projects when required.
  • To act with the highest integrity at all times and in line with the Company handbook, Clinigen’s values and culture and the Legal team’s best in class service approach
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable law and best practice in the jurisdictions where Clinigen operates
Requirements
  • Minimum law degree or equivalent
  • English law qualified solicitor with minimum 3-5 years PQE
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and being able to bridge the gap between business and customer requirements
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Knowledge/experience of the pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage but not required.
  • Some experience with compliance issues (FCPA, Bribery Act, EFPIA, GDPR) is preferred but not essential.
  • Self-motivated to drive work/projects forward and comfortable being an individual contributor in a dynamic environment.
  • Well organized and proactive; sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Logical and process-minded with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop relationships with all parts of the business including the executive leadership team
  • Proven excellent influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to effectively resolve challenging issues
  • Excellent contract drafting skills with the ability to translate complex commercial and legal requirements into sound contractual language
  • An individual who takes a common-sense approach in their day to day work and has the confidence to make well balanced and informed decisions with practical benefits, especially when under pressure
  • Effective management and prioritization of workload, including ability to manage multiple priorities to multiple deadlines
