We are looking for an individual to join us as our Legal Counsel for our Group & Knowledge Solutions functions.

The position will be mainly based at the Group’s headquarters in Chiswick, West London. The Group Legal team comprises of qualified lawyers (some based internationally in the United States and Asia) and includes the Company Secretarial and Compliance & Ethics sub functions. It works closely with the Group’s senior leadership team. Your role will be to provide legal and commercial expertise to BSI Group as a member of the team.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal support to BSI Group on a wide range of commercial matters as a member of the Group Legal team with a focus on commercial law.
  • Assisting business colleagues in the drafting, negotiation, review and approval of a wide range of contracts including client contracts (primarily related to the Knowledge Solutions division), supplier contracts, and documents connected to standards-making.
  • Supporting commercial projects, including creating project plans, liaising with business colleagues, negotiating with external partners and taking the lead in drafting and concluding a wide range of contracts.
  • To provide advice and guidance on intellectual property matters and the Group’s obligations as set out by its unique governance regime.
  • Providing advice and guidance on the Group’s obligations in the conduct of its knowledge, assurance and compliance activities in accordance with international laws, accreditation rules and industry best practice including privacy, data protection and competition law.

About You

  • Solicitor with demonstrable post-qualification experience.
  • IT literate.
  • Commercially astute, focused on a practical approach and adding value.
  • A great team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • High levels of learning agility.
