Job Description
An opportunity to join our client on a full-time hybrid basis has become available. The client is a group of multiple companies based in central Edinburgh. The groups primary objective is charitable, but the subsidiaries are focused on profit-making, there for this would be an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a small to medium sized company within a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a professional qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) and will want to further develop their skills and progress in their career. The role is diverse and therefore it is important for the client that you want to widen your skills and be involved in many areas of finance and accounting.
The Role :
- Leading month end and statutory processes.
- Responsible for reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and presenting these to the Financial Controller.
- Preparing and completing financial year end, preparation of audit files, reconciliation and financial statements.
- Assisting the Financial Controller in preparation of annual tax computations, returns and planning.
- Preparation and management of detailed budgets and forecasts.
- Assisting the finance executive in VAT returns preparation, payroll, journals and unresolved items.
Essential Criteria :
- Accounting Qualification (CIMA, CA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Experience with accounting software packages, ideally Sage.
- An understanding of management accounts preparations and uses.
- Excellent MS Office Excel literacy, including pivot tables.
- A desire to further develop your skills and knowledge.
Desirable Criteria :
- Experience in preparing management accounts and financial statements.
- Experience in Charity SORP.
- Experience of tax, including creative industry reliefs.
Salary : £45k
