*Job title: Marketing and Communications Director

*Salary type: £80k-£120k (Depending on Experience)

*Job type: Full time

*Location: 5 days per week in the Ashford Kent office, by Ashford International Station, 25 mins train from London St Pancras (possible flexibility for Hybrid, but since it's a startup they're hoping for someone comfortable to come into the office full time)


Aquent is recruiting an experienced Marketing and Communications Director to join a dynamic and pioneering start-up in the carbon solution space, where revolutionary ideas are shaping the future of sustainability. Be at the forefront of transforming ethical practices and play a key role in steering pioneering marketing and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a driving force, well versed in successful delivery in start-up environments. You will have relevant experience, demonstrating a strong track record in project management, full life cycle expertise, and a hands-on approach to communication strategy development. This role involves managing both internal and external stakeholders, creating compelling communications, and ensuring the seamless execution of marketing projects.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development of long-term marketing and communications plans.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the marketing team, encouraging experimentation with new channels, technologies, and strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Able to create a substantial marketing comms strategy for an innovative start-up.
  • Ownership of the digital marketing budget, performance tracking and forecasting.
  • Be industrially minded and commercially aware about growing in this new market, seeking evangelical consumers, and influencing the B2B market.
  • Daily Campaign Management across all digital channels, ensuring ROI targets are achieved.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • As the business scales you’ll work with the creative team to create
  • suitable assets to test and deliver.
  • Explore, test and implement new acquisition channels and retention strategies.
  • Lead marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with organisational goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with other department heads, such as sales and branding to ensure alignment of marketing eKorts with overall business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors and partners.
  • Oversee the creation of impactful content, including media/press releases, articles, and social.
  • Develop protocols and strategies for managing communication during crises or emergencies, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and maintaining the company's reputation.
  • Responsible for the sales and marketing of credits and pricing strategy.
  • Creating the brand hierarchy.
  • Building web systems and downstream branding of assets on budget on time.
  • Be the communication and PR symbiosis across company comms – media and webinars.
  • Asset creation and social media campaign for creating discussions around carbon with buyers of brands and retail. To influence brands behaviour on carbon footprint reduction and oKsetting the balance.
  • Develop the Certification plan process and system for validated brands to sign up and placing of certification logo on packaging. Confirming the footprint of each branded goods.
  • Ensure the clients app for condors, buyers are built with the tech team.
  • Prepare sales plans for 2025 credit sales.
  • Working on Investor relations marketing, mailers and newsletters.



Experience:


  • A great attitude is key, we’re looking for someone with a proven track record of outstanding delivery in a start-up environment.
  • Extensive experience of operating in a senior marketing and communications role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing marketing and communications projects from conception to completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
