The Role
Knockanboy Vets, Co Antrim have an opportunity for a mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our team.
We offer a truly mixed role with a good ration of 50:50, SA to farm. Large animal work comprises mostly dairy, with small amounts of beef, sheep and some equine (if desired).
A day in life here at Knockanboy would usually start at 9am with consults, followed by some large animal calls later in the morning. After lunch, if time, help with small animal appointments would be appreciated followed by further large animal calls in the afternoon. On average one day per week is dedicated to TB testing and most days finish around 5.30pm.
4-4.5 days per week, plus on call rota
Salary up to £65,000 based on full-time hours, depending on experience
About Us
We are a first opinion, 8 vet (3 full time small animal, 5 mixed vets) 1 vet nurse, 3 student vet nurses, 1 practice manager, 6 reception staff strong practice. We have 2 centres and are located near the beautiful Giants Causeway and lovely coastline in North Antrim. We have all the usual equipment including digital x-ray, small animal ultrasound scanner, haematology and biochemistry machines and 4 large animal ultrasound scanners. Large animal handling facilities on site allow good training for new recruits. With friendly staff and lovely, loyal clientele we have a great working environment.
Applicant Requirements
The ideal candidate would be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, preferably with some previous experience in either a large or small animal practice however, we would welcome a motivated and enthusiastic recent graduate keen to develop their career and gain further experience.
