Salary £33,000 - £42,000
We have a vacancy for a capable Software Developer with an engineering and/or physics background to join our team as a Senior Model Engineer.
You will be part of a team of eight Model Engineers, who maintain and develop a set of computational models that underpin crucial defence analysis and planning. The tools we develop are used by us, as well as our MOD customer for studies that help us understand the technical aspects of our work and clarify future requirements. They are also included in an integrated software suite that enables our MOD customer to carry out operational planning activities. There is scope to work on other projects in the company from time to time.

Carrying out model-based study/investigation work and maintaining documentation

We’re expecting that you’ve done this role before, so you’ll know how to do it whilst spinning multiple plates:
Working, technical knowledge of C#, C++. Prior knowledge of Fortran is useful but required.
A sound grasp of the key principles and techniques of physics and maths-based computer modelling, and a desire to put those skills to work solving technical challenges as part of a team of engineers.
Demonstrable ability to develop computational algorithms to solve practical problems.

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects you’ll be working on, you must be a UK National, and be willing to undergo and maintain appropriate UK government Security Clearance
