Multi-Skilled Gas Technician

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum plus company van and Veolia benefits Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week. Overtime is paid at x1.5 and Sundays/Bank holidays x2 Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, Craven Road, Reading, RG1 5BD

What will you be doing?
Executing the preventive and corrective maintenance program in line with client requirements. Carrying out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager. Troubleshooting problems with equipment as directed by Site Supervisors. Completing site documentation before and after work tasks. Liaising with sub-contractors during planned service maintenance. Participating in the appropriate training. Carrying out risk assessments of equipment maintenance task list and ensuring these are always kept valid. Carrying out periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid. Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings and work around maintenance shutdown's. Participating in audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions required. Ensuring the CMMS system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance hours.
What are we looking for?
Recognised trade qualification in Mechanical or Plumbing. Gas Safe qualification. Experience in a similar role with a good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems. Knowledge of Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, Steam systems and Ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems would be advantageous. Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems. Understanding of basic instrumentation. Problem solver with a proactive attitude. Trade qualification in Air Conditioning would be advantageous.
