Data Centre Network Engineer

Overview:


Within the IT department, the Data Centre Network Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and advancing network infrastructure. This position involves managing the network operations in the data center, addressing core routing, network security, and internet services. The engineer will also support regular operational activities such as monitoring, support, automation, and network optimization.


Responsibilities:


  • and secure the operation of data centers and server rooms.
  • and oversee data center management and monitoring systems.
  • with the Facilities and Infrastructure team to optimize energy efficiency.
  • technical guidance for infrastructure setups including power requirements and equipment installation.
  • on DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and cable management systems.
  • the data center network and collaborate with network team members.
  • systems daily, ensuring integrity and availability of hardware and server resources.
  • and resolve network issues, including off-hours support as needed.
  • continuous improvement in network service quality.
  • tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

Key Experience and Competencies:


  • in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • in networking technologies with a solid background in a large-scale environment.
  • such as Cisco CCNP or Juniper JNCIP preferred.
  • experience in:
  • Centre Networking and Management
  • monitoring and network security
  • network protocols and segmentation
  • monitoring and troubleshooting
  • to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • interpersonal skills and capability to build relationships at all levels.


Desirable:
