Our well-established Medivet 24 hour Dearne Valley Centre is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join the team.
The night vet will be responsible for dealing with all out-of-hour care within the hospital and the surrounding Medivet clinics, while working alongside a dedicated night nurse.
As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already be an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon or have the desire to develop your ECC knowledge and skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency and critical care and will thrive on working at gold standard in patient and client care. We are seeking someone with at least 2 years small animal veterinary experience, who is comfortable with both routine and emergency procedures.
All our practices share the same software, so you will have access to your patients’ history at all times; case continuity guaranteed! Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you’ll also have great communication skills and a confident, can do approach.
The role offers flexible working, giving you an excellent work life balance that includes working 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota.
7 nights on, 14 nights off or Annualised Package Below:
Salary package up to £60,000 depending on experience CPD allowance VDS, RCVS and BVS fees paid.

Skills and experience
You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.
You must be confident working sole charge, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement.
Night shift experience is desirable but not essential.
The role may suit an ECC Certificate holder or someone who is working towards this – full funding will be given.

Dearne Valley is a 24 hour purpose built facility with up to date digital x-ray, ultrasound and full body CT scanner and an in house laboratory.
The practice has 3 large consulting rooms, 2 theatres, large prep area, internal lab facilities and large learning and office spaces.
