Nursery Manager Job – Forest Hill, London (SE23)

Hours: 40 hours a week

Are you a passionate and experienced leader looking to manage a thriving nursery in Southeast London?

We are excited to be working with a fantastic 60-place nursery in Forest Hill (SE23) seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Manager to join their team.

About the Role:

  • Lead and supervise a team of 10 staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum and activities for the children.
  • Ensure the nursery adheres to all licensing regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed and happy.
  • Maintain open communication, discussing both progress and concerns regarding each child.
  • Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections, ensuring all systems and processes are in place, and staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and maintaining supply inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to guarantee a cohesive approach to childcare services.
  • Address any disciplinary issues or conflicts that may arise.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is a must.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) with fluency in English.
  • Proven leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of nursery operations and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a demanding environment.
  • A passion for early years education and child development.

  • Competitive salary of £35,100 (pro rata) for term-time only (39 weeks).

Person Specification:

  • Proven track record in Nursery Management with strong leadership skills.
  • Experience managing a nursery with at least 60 places and a minimum Ofsted “Good” rating.
  • At least two years of recent experience in a similar setting.

Living within a 30-minute commute is preferred, but not mandatory.
