You will be part of a team managing the Pipeline Integrity Programme, a proprietary standard developed by De Beers, which tracks and traces diamonds across the diamond jewellery value chain from point of rough diamond trading to cutting and polishing processes and through to diamond inscription for onward sale to consumers. All underpinned through third party verification.

Job Description :

The role entails providing support to the Head of Ethical and Sustainable Value Chains in managing special projects and due diligence to support initiatives that identify and address ethical and sustainable risks to the diamond jewellery value/supply chain.

Your role will be:

  • Actively manage the implementation and administration of the Pipeline Integrity Standard.
  • Evolution of standards on an ongoing basis to ensure that new and emerging risks are addressed.
  • Support the relationship management between programme participants, appointed auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Establish training and capacity building materials for delivery to programme participants and auditors, including generic and tailored training.
  • Manages good relations and clear communications with relevant business units and internal team on due diligence requirements, outcomes and makes recommendations on finding for decision-makers.
Qualifications :
  • Degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline essential, with a post graduate degree considered an advantage (i.e. International Relations/Development, Management, CSR, Economics)

Role-specific knowledge:

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is essential
  • Sound understanding of due diligence requirements for counterparties, in the context of reputational and ethical integrity.
  • Previous extensive experience of the diamond industry including practical diamond skills – both rough and polished – an advantage
  • Self-motivated and proactive at taking initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of local business practices in the major jewellery manufacturing centers
  • Strong Knowledge of the Responsible jewellery Council requirements or a proven ability to learn on the job.
