Principal Board Design Engineer - PCB / Embedded System Board Design / FPGAs / PCIe / DDR

We are partnered with a globally recognised semiconductor company and they are looking for a Principal Board Design Engineer to join the team in Cambridge on a permanent basis.
The role offers hybrid working and will offer excellent career progression, a solid base salary (dependant on experience) plus stocks. All whilst working in a dynamic, multicultural and inclusive team.

What we look for in return is:
- Experience in leading multifunctional teams
- Detailed knowledge of embedded system board design, designing with complex LSI devices such as FPGAs, demonstrating an understanding of various high speed IO interface standards such as PCIe and DDR, PCB stack-ups and topologies
Any of the following will be considered a plus:
- A broad knowledge of EDA tools for schematic entry PCB layout and signal integrity analysis
- Experience in using Cadence CIS, Mentor PADs Layout, Allegro PCB design suite and Hyperlynx tools
- Embedded software knowledge to test and debug the design with a creative and structured approach to problem-solving.
- RTL skills in Verilog or VHDL
- Use of a UNIX environment and shell programming/scripting in e.g. Tcl, Perl, Python etc
- Programming languages such as: assembly language (ideally Arm assembler), higher-level (e.g. C), object oriented (e.g. C++)
