Wood Process & Energy require Principal Instrument Design services. This will be for an initial 6 month period to support a pharmaceutical project within our Glasgow office where we recognise the value of hybrid working.
Responsibilities

  • Acting as the Lead Designer on projects as assigned by the C&I Discipline Manager
  • Checking of drawings in accordance with Company Procedures
  • Self - starter and an ability to produce C&I deliverables with little input or guidance
  • Good understanding with respect to applicable international codes and standards and their application
  • High level of competency with respect to Micro - station and AutoCAD 2D and AVEVA PDMS E3D software
  • Experience of managing and delivering the following deliverables - Cable Block diagrams, Instrument schedule, Cable and Drum Schedules, Layout and Routing Drawings, Support & Transit Drawings, MTO Schedules, Standard installation details, Termination Drawings, Panel and JB General Arrangement Drawings, Instrument Earthing and Power Distribution Drawings, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Drawings, Workpacks, SOW documents, Label & Furrule Schedules
  • Strong understanding of plant design and equipment layout and ability to coordinate with other discipline design groups to progress a joined - up plant design
  • Liaising with other disciplines as required
  • Management and governance of Instrument workpacks for high value engineering centre

Skills / Qualifications
  • Ideally a HNC in Instrument Engineering
  • A proven track record in the following project phases: FEED, Detailed Engineering (EPC)
  • Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Wiring and Wiring methods
