Job Description
Pektron Group Ltd are seeking to recruit a Principal Lighting Design Engineer. Your role will be to assist, support, and advise the Engineering Management team in finding the best technical direction for the lighting department.
You will assist in the development of automotive lighting product design systems, tools and procedures within Pektron, identify new lighting business opportunities, creating proposals and supporting new business opportunities.
This is a customer facing role so good communication skills are essential along with the ability to travel when required to support customer site meetings (UK or globally).

Key responsibilities:
Developing automotive lighting-based design solutions and system architecture for multiple product projects.
Review lighting project scope and create quotations for out-of-scope activities requested by the customer.
Single point of contact for customers (with support from department manager as required)
Engage in design reviews and checks for compliance to Pektron Standards and Procedures
Support testing of completed design in part or full.
Assist in interviewing and testing of potential candidates for the department.
Coaching and mentoring of junior team members.
Experience required:
Knowledge of automotive lighting standards, lighting homologation and components.
3D CAD (Ideally Catia V5) with the ability to create complex assemblies and A class surfaces.
Appreciation of optical design and toolchains used for it.

We are based in Alfreton Road in Derby, easily commutable from the Derby area, Nottingham, Mansfield, Burton, Loughborough, Ashbourne and the Peak District and East Staffordshire.
We have 5 modern, purpose built buildings at our Derby site including state of the art manufacturing facilities and a purpose built Engineering centre to house our Engineering team.
