Salary: £56,655 - £61,324 per annum
Location: Brent Civic Centre
Contract Type: Permanent
Closing Date: 10 March 2023 In less than a decade, a new £1.7b superhub station will open at Old Oak Common, bringing High Speed 2, Elizabeth Line and Great Western mainline services into the heart of one of the most neglected, yet fascinating, parts of west London. Alongside around 90 acres of adjacent potential development land, this brings tremendous opportunities to see a renewed and truly exemplary urban district emerge – one that showcases environmental, social and economic innovation and best practice and which delivers genuinely inclusive growth for existing and future communities alike. It is this challenge that the Mayor of London has set for us at the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation. We have a single mission - to make that happen.
As well as the construction of the new station, we have more than 7,000 new homes recently completed and under construction, with 8,000 more in the pipeline, major investments in new businesses across Park Royal and Old Oak and a newly launched Creative Enterprise Zone. We have a newly adopted Local Plan, funding from the mayor to acquire sites, and a close collaboration with our partners across local and central government to push ahead with our plans. With these successes underway, and as we gear up for the big delivery challenges ahead, we now need to appoint development, regeneration and project management professionals to help us shape this part of west London.  The Development team leads the strategic regeneration programme that is assembling and driving the delivery of our Local Plan objectives, including significant new development within Old Oak West. Working across both Old Oak and Park Royal, we need experienced and energetic team members to help turn our plans into practice.   As part of our commitment to sustainability, OPDC have developed an Outline Business Case for a heat network within OPDC to supply low carbon heat to 12,000 homes, a hospital and commercial buildings. The next phase of this project is commercialisation and Full Business Case in which OPDC will procure a delivery partner. This is an exciting and fast paced project which requires determination and ambition.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for managing an external team of consultants, working with internal and external stakeholders, to successfully procure a delivery partner for OPDC.  You will have experience of managing complex commercial and technical projects, reporting to Directors, Board and stakeholder to enable key decisions to be made. Good programme management and communications skills (verbal and written) are essential.
Here at OPDC we celebrate the wide, creative diversity of our area and are working hard to ensure that we reflect this in everything we do. We are therefore especially keen to hear from applicants whose experience and work, in and out of paid employment, can bring a deep understanding of working in a multi-cultural, dynamic and diverse environment.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We want to represent the city we serve, which will help us become a more innovative and efficient organisation. Our goal is to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. We are a disability confident employer who guarantee an interview to any disabled candidate who meets all of the essential criteria. We also use anonymising software that removes identifying information from CVs and cover letters to make the process fair.
