Principal Engineer | Python, Data, Go | Life Sciences

- West London offices, Hybrid working

We are partnering with an innovative, scale-up Technology business having a real positive impact on Life Science research through their software solutions.
They are expanding their team and looking for a Principal Engineer to design and architect solutions - you will be a competent coder in building hardened applications.

As a Principal Engineer, you should have experience designing and architecting solutions and advising on technical direction, as well as being an extremely competent coder.
Whether you’re a pure Front Ender, Back Ender, or somewhere in-between, you appreciate clean, well-designed models, you know what it takes to build robust, reliable, resilient systems, and you take professional pride in building hardened applications.
You'll need to be seriously well versed in at least one mainstream programming language (ideally more) such as Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C, C++, Rust, Python, etc.

Responsibilities:

They require someone who appreciates, clean, well-designed models for robust, resilient systems.
Developing/improving core interfaces and infrastructure.
Developing new interfaces, drivers, representations and output processing for various robots and Lab equipment.
Data process framework and algorithm implementation.
Designing, building, testing and maintaining API’s.
Integrating and deploying custom software.
Managing deadlines and priorities

Experience required:

Their main stack is Go, GCP, Kubernetes, however they are flexible in the language someone has experience with and looking for good problem solvers
Experience of at least one mainstream software development language such as Go, Typescript/JavaScript, Java, C++, Rust or Python.

Beneficial experience:

Background in cloud computing
Product experience that includes Physical devices i.e. robotics
