- Thorn Lighting are currently recruiting for a Director of Product Management to be business responsible for the global product management and portfolio of all Indoor product lines of the Thorn Brand. In this role you will be responsible for to developing and leading the implementation of the product line strategy as part of the overall sustainable growth strategy of the Thorn brand within the Zumtobel Group.
- Overall global Product Management responsibility for the dedicated product indoor portfolio line of the Thorn Lighting brand
- Leading a Product Management team to meet growth objectives for the brand and therein situated application fields
- Managing a global product portfolio of luminaires (including inherent software, hardware and services) throughout its entire life cycle with full responsibility for the product line profitability and in clear alignment with the application and sustainability strategy.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the portfolio with the brand and driving decision for investments.
- In close exchange with Market Intelligence and Sales, analyzing and tracking globally market, technology, competitor and customer requirements and trends related to the product line business and determining competitive attributes, prioritization and value propositions.
- Utilize global product- and competitor-analysis using state-of-the art methodologies & tools to improve the product portfolio and provide cutting edge innovation with the ambition to lead the market with the dedicated product line
- Identifying needs, opportunities and risks and formulating suggested positioning against competition.
- Develop and define the product line strategy including short-, mid- and long-term product roadmap in alignment with brands and applications in order to meet the agreed sales and/or market share targets. Ensure the implementation of strategy and roadmap in the market through proactive cooperation with sales, marketing and R&D.
You will manage and motivate an international team of global product managers. you will be responsible for running the P&L of the entire product line, this responsibility being shared with the application heads in the respective brands.
In this role your duties will include:
- We are looking for……
- Significant business experience in an international team, preferably in electronics, electro-mechanical equipment goods, consumer electronics or in electrical equipment or appliances’ industries (B2B is a must)
- Experience in leading a Product Management team with proven track record of leading and developing high performing teams
- In-depth experience in the positioning of products within markets for specific brands
- In-depth understanding and experience of how to shape, reposition, develop and rank a product portfolio of leading industry brands
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills for current and future requirements of products to be covered
- Modern entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead, develop and motivate employees as well as colleagues, also decentralized and remote whilst acting in a modern matrix organizational set-up
