Position Overview:
The company is seeking a practical and creative chemist/materials scientist with a background in thin films to join their pioneering R&D team. The R&D Scientist will be a key member, in an initially small project team, aimed at developing one of the core company technologies and intellectual property (IP) enabling the implementation of next-generation products in the field. They will play a crucial role in R&D activities investigating innovative optical coatings and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Development: Working with the Project Lead to investigate new coatings and materials for novel optical applications.
Testing and Quality Control:Collaboratively generate test methods and conduct functional and performance testing. Implement quality control measures to feedback samples standards and requirements.
Equipment Operation: Operate equipment, tools, and machinery in adherence to safety protocols.
Prototyping Assistance: Support prototyping activities by assisting in the creation and modification of prototypes for testing and validation purposes.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of manufacturing processes, testing procedures, and resulting data. Present data in a form suitable for analysis.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other technicians to address manufacturing and testing challenges and contribute to overall team goal.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing and testing processes, proposing solutions and improvements.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
