We are searching for someone who is happy to provide both classroom support, as well as support during outdoor activities.
To be a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need to possess strong behaviour management qualities and be able to quickly build rapport with both students and staff members.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will be one who is very nurturing with the ability build relationships with pupils.
Knowing every day might be different being adaptive and re-active is very important.
The pupils need a Teaching Assistant they can trust and connect with as well as someone who will guide and nurture them.
Previous experience working in an SEMH or SEN setting is desirable, however we will provide full training to ensure you have all the skills necessary to be successful in your role.
The ideal teaching assistant will have the following attributes:
- Ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships with young people
- Can communicate effectively with young people
- Change activities to meet the needs of the students you are working with
- Able to read body language and moods
- Able to promote and encourage independence at all times.
- Think on your feet
- Contribute to child development plans
- Take part in extracurricular activities
- Have a positive approach to learning
- Ability to promote the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills
