Agratas are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer – AMC and MRO Purchase to be based on a hybrid basis from our Coventry office to support the construction and industrialisation of our recently announced state-of-the-art, multi-billion-pound battery manufacturing facility near Bridgwater in Somerset. Using your expertise and knowledge within purchasing CAPEX/OPEX goods and services for an OEM your role will support the delivery of one of the largest ever investments in the UK automotive sector.


You will be responsible for the indirect purchasing of Capex/Opex goods and services required for the functioning of the gigafactory and business sites.


Key Duties:

  • Lead and manage the RFI, RFQ, Cost Comparison, Zero based costing, Negotiation & awarding process.
  • Establish beneficial working relationships with various internal groups across the organization including various programs, regional/country offices, legal, finance, and others.
  • Identify reliable suppliers for AMC services, MRO supplies, and machine spares through market research and networking.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, product quality, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure optimal value for the organization.
  • Negotiate Contracts for employee transportation, Canteen/food supply, scrap disposal, office/site rents. - Industrial Facility Contracts (IFM) eg, DG set, chiller, cooling tower maintenance, security service, housekeeping, Landscaping, ETP/ STP /WTP etc.
  • To prepare and propose cost reduction strategies and category plan to Procurement Lead.
  • Proactively identify risks, and create contingency plan to mitigate risk in supply chain to avoid potential disruption on operations.


Essential Experience:

  • Proven work experience in Indirect Sourcing and vendor management, primarily in an OPEX function for an automotive/tech company.
  • Broad Knowledge about Contract finalisation.
  • Strong knowledge of legal requirements and legislation.
  • Awareness of price trends of Pipes, Valves and fittings from Major OEMs.
  • Strong Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Capable of managing self-activity planning and sorting priorities as per deadlines and work without supervision.
  • The ability to use ERP Systems, SAP, Ariba


Experience within a green field or brown field project would be desirable.
