A leading food retailer and wholesaler in the North West of England is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to oversee the Buying and Trading Strategy for this key product category in their frozen business unit. The company are a winner of multiple awards for their products and service and have won awards in recognition of the way the treat their employees.
About the Role
The jobholder will be accountable for developing and bringing to market a profitable category range using their excellent market and product knowledge. You will be required to identify and source new suppliers as well as optimising terms with the current supply base. The role will involve a significant amount of sourcing, innovating and developing products for their own label ranges as well as managing relationships with the large processors and suppliers in both the UK and Internationally.
About you
With Buying / Trading experience in the FMCG Retail or Wholesale sector, you will have complete freedom and autonomy to manage your category from top to bottom. You will have a proven track record of building strong relationships with suppliers and implementing the category strategy to maximise sales. Whilst it would be advantageous to have a good understanding of buying / trading a frozen food category, we will also consider people who have experience in Chilled or Ambient food buying.
What you’ll get in return
